The short version: Use Nearknown honestly, do not misuse it to harm others, and understand that it is a record-keeping tool, not a safety guarantee. By using Nearknown you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, completing identity verification, or using any feature of Nearknown, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Nearknown.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nearknown. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance.

Providing false identification or impersonating another person is a violation of these terms and may be illegal. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that provide false information.

When using Trust Scan to verify another person's identity, you agree to:

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Nearknown and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Interaction records may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Nearknown shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Charleston, South Carolina, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Nearknown.
